VAVRO, Richard Julius "Rich" - Age 73, of Swartz Creek, went to be with his Lord, Sunday, July 29, 2012. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, 9252 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, The Reverend Fr. Gene Geromel officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek Monday from 5-9 PM, Tuesday from 1-4 and 6-9 PM and at church Wednesday from 10 AM until time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church. Rich was born January 24, 1939 in Flint, the son of Joseph and Katherine (Tekiele) Vavro. He married Joyce G. Smith January 13, 1960 in Flint. He had resided in Swartz Creek since 1966 coming from Flint. Rich retired from CJ Rogers Construction, Inc. in Flint. He was a member of St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, Swartz Creek. Surviving are: wife, Joyce; 3 sons, Richard Vavro, Jr. and wife Susan of Northville, Donald Vavro and wife Diana of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and David Vavro and wife Susan of Allen, MI; 8 grandchildren, Marie Vavro, Jacqueline Hancock and husband Adam, Donald Vavro II, Richard Vavro, Clarice Vavro, Katherine Vavro, Joseph Vavro and David Vavro; great grandson, Collin Vavro; sister, Bernice Taubitz and husband Joseph of Swartz Creek; several nieces and nephews.
