TURNBULL, Richard E. Â Age 78, of Durand, died Monday, January 02, 2006 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, January 4, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Flint. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Tuesday and Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Turnbull was born April 18, 1927 in Flint, the son of Elwood and Nina (Munger) Turnbull and was a graduate of Central High School. Mr. Turnbull was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II where he received the Sharp Shooters award. He retired from FJ Boutel Driveaway Company and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Mr. Turnbull was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and loved the woods and outdoors. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his sons and grandsons hunting in the U.P. at 5410. He loved winters in Arizona and Nevada, Texas Hold Em and mostly his family. Surviving are beloved wife, Nancy Turnbull; four sons, Tom Turnbull and wife, Anne of Perry, KS, Scott Turnbull and wife, Linda of Swartz Creek, Ronn Turnbull and wife, Connie of Durand, Jeff Turnbull and wife, Diane of Birch Run; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
