SWAINSTON, Richard Charles, "Uncle Dick" age 95, of Flint, died Friday, September 21, 2007 at Lifehouse Assisted Living. Funeral Services will be held 12PM Monday, September 24, 2007 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Pastor Bob Coen officiating. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8PM Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. Richard was born May 28, 1912 in Saginaw the son of Richard F. and Evelyn (Blatz) Swainston. When Richard was two, his mother died and his father remarried Mary Mildred Benham who lovingly raised him to adulthood. Richard married Donna Mae Telling June 13, 1936 in Byron and she preceded him in death July 13, 1992. Richard was employed by General Motors in Quality Control for 38 years until his retirement in 1971. He was a member of Brown Street Wesleyan Church for 42 years and served 18 years on the church board. He is survivied by many nieces, nephews and many loving family members.
