Richard Spears

Spears, Richard Wood - Age 79, of  Flint, died May 24, 2022. Private family services will be held. Arrangements are being handled by Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc.

Richard was born January 2, 1943 in Flint the son of George and Thelma (Putnam) Spears. He married Gloria Jean Black on May 4, 1963, He retired from General Motors in 1999 with 37.5 years of service as an electrician. He loved camping , fishing, and bike riding. He was an amateur radio operator for many years.  He was a member of Bristol Road Church of Christ. He loved his family dearly and was a proud Grandpa of two grandsons Cameron and Avery who adored him. He was "Papa" to them.

Surviving are: wife of 59 years, Gloria; children, Laura Jean (Spears) Stumm (Paul Stumm), Jeffery Wood Spears (Gina); grandchildren, Cameron Stumm, Avery Stumm; sister Sharon Collins; brother Jerry Spears (Joyce); his beloved dog Stella.   He was preceded in death by his parents.
