Richard Allen Slater

SLATER, Richard Allen, age 56, of Fenton, died Sunday, February 12, 2006 at Huron Valley Hospital. Funeral Services will be held 1PM Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church, 10235 White Lake Rd. Fenton. Pastor James H. Mascow officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be held 1-9PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd. Fenton and 12PM Wednesday until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family. Richard was born February 20, 1949 in Dearborn, the son of William and Eleanora (Druszynski) Slater. He was a graduate of Chadsey High School and had formal education at Henry Ford Community College. Richard married Linda Falkenberg in Detroit on June 27, 1969, and lived in the Detroit area until 1980 when they moved to Fenton. Richard was employed at General Motors for 20 years, and enjoyed fishing and wood working in his spare time. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, New Boston. Richard believed in working hard to provide a better life for his family. Surviving are his loving wife of 36 years, Linda of Fenton; 3 loyal sons, Jason Slater and wife Lorrie of Fenton, Brian Slater and fiancâ?s, Heather Johnson of Fenton, Michael Slater and fiancâ?s Michelle McCready of Fenton; very special grandson, Eric Slater 'little craftsmen'; devoted parents, William and Eleanora Slater of Linden; brother, William Slater and wife Gwen of Woodhaven; sister-in-law, Paullette Ohanian and husband Art of Dearborn Heights; brother-in-law, Jim Falkenberg of Dearborn Heights and many nieces and nephews.
