SHIELDS, Richard Carl - Age 81, of Davison, died Sunday, August 5, 2012. Services will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, August 11, 2012 at World Outreach Center, 2275 Irish Road, Davison, with Pastor Jerry Pruett officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 AM until time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to Genesee County Humane Society. Richard was born August 5, 1931 in Flint, the son of Carl Albert and Lorena (Miller) Shields. He married Jeanette M. Henderson December 11, 1956 in Scotland. He is a retired Master Sargent in the U.S. Air Force and served in Thailand during the Viet Nam War. He also was a retired Car Salesman. Surviving are: wife, Jeanette; 5 children, Barbara Ann Dean and husband Mark of Minnesota, Linda Lee Clifford and fiance' Joel Brown of Davison, Debbie Sue Urbin of Flint, Danny Richard Shields and wife Teresa of Grand Blanc and Carl Albert Shields of Flint; 9 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; brother, Robert Shields and wife Josephine of Florida; sister, Sharon Lee Vanderwalker and husband Jerry of Arizona; several nieces and nephews.
