SELDEN, Richard Michael- Age 55, of Linden, who went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 19, 2007 in Elkhart, IN, due to a Cerebral Hemorrhage. Â A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, September 23, 2007 at Linden Presbyterian Church. Â Rev. Parker E. Smith officiating. Â Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad Street, Linden Saturday from 1-8 PM and at Church Sunday from 3 PM until time of service. Â In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the Linden Presbyterian Church or Mott Childrens Hospital. Â Family gathering and visits with his children and grandson were the best of times for Richard Selden. Â Richard was born December 28, 1951 in Flint, the son of Blythe and Barbara (Breese) Selden. Â A member of the 1970 graduating class of Linden High School, Richard also attended Adrian College. Â A 4 year Navy Veteran, he served aboard the USS NEOSHO; upon being honorably discharged from the Navy, Richard worked with his father, Blythe Selden at the Selden Insurance Agency. Â Later he helped plan and develop the Shiawassee Shores Retirement Community. Â Most recently Richard worked for Classic Transport of Elkhart, IN. Â Richard enjoyed driving slowly through the country side, playing board games and cards, creating unique leather craft items and giving many of those items away to people in need. Â He was a lifetime member of Linden Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder and Sunday School teacher. Â Richard is survived by his mother, Barbara Selden; 3 children, Shari Luck (Norm), Michael Selden, Stacy Gregory (Jonathan); grandson, Mitchel Luck; siblings, Susan VerWys (Thom) of Ypsilanti, Ann Gibson (Barry) of Linden, Kathy Selden of Linden, David Selden (Patti) of Goodrich; 10 nieces and nephews. Â He was preceded in death by his father, Blythe Selden; grandparents, Â Frank and Mary Selden, Ray and Helen Breese.
