SANDERS, Richard John - Age 78, of Flint, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Pastor Mark Cox officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Juvenile Diabetes Association. Richard was born October 2, 1935 in Flint the son of John Henry and Edna M. (Broughton) Sanders. He was a 1953 graduate of Flint Central High School. He served in the U.S. Army. Richard married Elizabeth Willershausen August 15, 1964 in Detroit and she preceded him in death November 16, 2011. He was a life long resident of the Flint area. He retired in 1995 from City Auto Service after 44 years of service. Surviving are: children, Charles Sanders of Flushing, Sherrie and husband Rob Coursey of Fenton, and Douglas Sanders of Oklahoma City, OK; 7 grandchildren, James, Christa, Taryn, Spencer, Kaylee, Emma, and Ethan.
