HUBBARD, Richard 'Dick' - Age 74, of Flint, died Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Brian's House in Davison. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 E. Bristol Road, Flint with Fr. Timothy MacDonald celebrant. Entombment in the Mausoleum at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-9PM Sunday, 1-4 and 6-9PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint and 10AM Tuesday until time of service at the church. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home 7:00 PM Monday followed by a Knights of Columbus Memorial Service. Those desiring may make contributions to American Cancer Society or Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Mr. Hubbard was born June 28, 1934 in Flint the son of Homer and Iva (Ousnamer) Hubbard. He had been a resident of Flint his entire life, graduating from Flint Central High School in 1953. Dick married his childhood sweetheart, Dorothy Carol Gailey on April 16, 1955 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church. He worked at Fisher Body I for 33 years, retiring in 1986. He was also Chief Ranger of the Independent Order of Foresters for 6 years. Mr. Hubbard converted to the Catholic faith April 1998 and never missed Saturday Mass. He served as an Usher and Eucharist Minister at Holy Redeemer. Dick was also a member of Knights of Columbus Fr. Louis P. Gauthier Council #10170, Navigator 4th Degree of 0510 Assembly and Honor Guard. He loved the church and Knights of Columbus and went to every function the Knights were involved in. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Carol; sons, Patrick and friend Cindy Starkey, Chris and wife Teresa, Daniel and wife Lori; daughter, Vicki Esho and husband Tony; grandchildren, Nicholas and wife Whitney Hubbard, Nina Esho, Zachary, Justin, Hali and Kaitlyn Hubbard, Brittney and Andy Buchkar; great-granddaughter, Allison Edwards.
