HIBBELN, Richard Peter - Age 85, of Linden, died Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Argentine Care Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12 Noon Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Rev. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3-8 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden and from 11:15 until the time of mass Tuesday at church. A vigil service will be held 7 PM Monday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association. Richard was born January 24, 1923 in Detroit, the son of Anthony and Gertrude (Andres) Hibbeln and was a graduate of St. Alphonsus Catholic High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp serving in WWII. He was married to Joan C. Goodson on May 5, 1955 in Detroit. Mr. Hibbeln owned and operated a paint store and later worked as a painter for Hurley Hospital. Surviving are: wife, Joan; daughters, Karen Benore of Davison, Denise and husband Mark Kotylo of Novi, Julie and husband John Beauchamp of Wisconsin, Kathy and husband John Knickerbocker of Swartz Creek; nine grandchildren; brother, Ray Hibbeln of Walled Lake; sister, Monica Rais of North Carolina; sister-in-law, Vi Hibbeln; brother-in-law, Bill Long. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald and Charles; two sisters, Betty Sierant and Rita Long. On-line condolences may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
