Richard Doty

DOTY, Richard W., age 70 of Swartz Creek, died at home, Saturday January 10, 2009. Richard was born in Flint January 22, 1938, son of Elmer and Mary Lou (Arnell) Doty. He has lived in the area all his lifetime. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and was retired from General Motors after 42 years of service. He was a member of the N.R.A. and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving is his wife, Elaine, his children; Timothy of Davison, Thomas (Kassandra) of Flint, Christopher (Mary) of Flint and Bradley (Ann-Mari) of Swartz Creek. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren; Sarah, Thomas, Jr., and Molly, 1 sister, Shirley Adams and a brother, Ralph Doty. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Daniel, a brother Don and a sister, Dorothy. A celebration service of his life will be 3 P.M. Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Home, Miller Rd. Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd. Swartz Creek. Mr.Marc Cavett will officiate.
