DENMAN, Richard "Dick" age 85, of Flint Township, died after a brief illness, Monday April 21, 2008 at Brian's House Hospice in Davison. Â Funeral Services will be 11AM Thursday, April 24, 2008, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek with burial following at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Military Honors performed under the auspices of VFW/AMVETS Swartz Creek Post #3720. Â Visitation will be held 5-9PM Wednesday and 10AM Thursday until the time of service at the funeral home. Â Dick served in the Civilian Conservation Camp out of Cadillac Michigan in 1940/41. Â He proudly served his country in Europe during World War II in the United States Army. Â He retired from Buick Motor Division as a General Foreman in 1980 having also served as Chairman of the Shop Committee and Recording Secretary for Buick Local 599. Â Richard also was a member of VFW/AMVETS Swartz Creek Post #3720. Â He was an avid sportsman, experiencing a successful deer hunt in both 2006 (rifle season) and 2007 (bow season). Â He enjoyed driving his snowmobile and quad runner and continued to do both throughout his life. Â He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 63 years, Edna (Turner) Denman, his two daughters and son-in-law; Ramona (Brian) Hughes, Cheryl Sibilsky, his four grandchildren; Amanda (Tony Goodrich) Hughes, Kristin (Jonathan) Schwartz, Mathew Soule, Alexander Soule, one great-grandson, Jonathan Schwartz Jr, his two sisters; Dora (Bill) Nixon of Birch Run, Mildred LaBelle of Cadillac, sister-in-law, Jane Denman and numerous nieces and nephews.
