CRAIG, Richard A. -- Age 75, of Durand, died September 10, 2007 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held 1 PM Friday, September 14 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Rev. Joyce Seaton-Lotter officiating. Visitation will be 1-8 PM Thursday, 10 AM until the service Friday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Family Worship Center. Mr. Craig was born January 20, 1932 in Flint the son of Melvin and Aletha (Ogden) Craig. He married Minnie (Clark) Armstrong on August 26, 1989 in Swartz Creek. He had served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He retired from General Motors in 1972 and then worked in real estate. In 1982 he was a founding member and deacon of the Swartz Creek Family Worship Center and continued as an extremely active member. He was very involved in his children and grandchildren's lives; family gatherings were very important to him. He was a gardener and lover of the land. Mr. Craig was a caring, compassionate person and a good listener. Surviving are: wife Minnie; two children, DeAnn (Gary) Solgat of Durand, Karlene (Timm Budry) Craig of Reese; grandchildren, Craig Solgat, Rich (Johanna) Budry, Jon Budry, Melissa Reed, Heather (Kirk) Tyler, Lindsay Clark, Amber Craig, Mandi Craig, Brooke Craig; ten great-grandchildren; beloved sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Ron Stone of Romeo; many nieces and nephews.
