CORRELL, Richard, "Rick" -- Age 53, passed away Monday May 25, 2015 at his residence in Oscoda. Funeral service will be held 1PM Friday, May 29 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation will be 10:00 AM until time of service on Friday. The eulogy will be delivered by Robert Porn, Administrator of the Flushing Moose Lodge followed by the Moose Ritual for departed brothers. Rick was born May 29, 1961, the son of Cecil Glenn (Curly) Correll and Janet (Hutchison) Correll. Rick never met a stranger. He was honest, trusting, friendly, outgoing, generous and would do anything for anybody if able. Rick rolled with the flow and took a lot in stride. He was a life member of the Flushing Loyal Order of Moose 1437, a life member of the Legion of the Moose and a member of the Oscoda Eagles. He was a member of the Bowling League in Oscoda. Rick was an avid Red Wings fan, and the Flint Generals when they were still playing. Annual visits to Cedar Point were always on his agenda, he loved golf, and watched most sports on TV. Rick was named honorary assistant coach of the Junior Generals hockey club a few years ago. Surviving to cherish his memory are his mother, Janet Correll, very special friend Jennifer Henry, his Aunt Peggy Laurent and several cousins. He is preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, his father Curly Correll, and Step mother Cindy Correll, and his mentor Eric Lehmkeule. In lieu of flowers, if one desires, contributions could be made to the Genesee County Humane Society or the Wounded Warrior Project.
