BEARDSLEY, Richard A. - Age 81, of Fenton, died Friday, December 5, 2008 at Genesys Health Park following surgery on December 4th. Services will be held 11 AM Monday, December 8, 2008 at Fenton United Methodist Church, 119 S. Leroy St., Fenton. Rev. E. Taveirne officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 AM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Fenton Rotary Club or Fenton United Methodist Church. Arrangements are being handled by Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Dick was born in Detroit, MI on November 30, 1927, the son of Rex and Lorraine Beardsley. He served in the U.S. Navy on a cruiser in 1946-1947 during WWII. He held a business degree from The U of M and was an SAE while at Michigan. Dick was a former member of Jaycees, Kiwanis and a member of Rotary for 22 years. He was elected to the Fenton School Board, serving for 14 years. He was on the board when Fenton High School was built. He held various positions in sales, was a stock broker and ended his career as a trust officer at The State Bank. Dick has been a member of Fenton United Methodist Church since 1956, serving on various committees during his lifetime. He was also a lifetime member of Spring Meadows Country Club. Dick had many health issues during his life but his positive attitude was an inspiration to others. Surviving are: wife, Ruth; three children, Laurie Sanback, Diane and husband Joe Paglino, Amy and husband John Wynne; grandchildren, Ryan and Kaitlyn Sanback, Michael, Anthony, Jenna, Elise and Joseph Paglino, Cara, Meghan, Johnny and Lindsey Wynne.
