ASP, Richard Vernon - Age 86, of Flint, died Saturday, December 4, 2010 at his residence. Funeral service will be held 5:00 PM Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Grace Lutheran Church, 2526 Corunna Rd, Flint, with Pastor Daniel Tomczyk officiating. Those desiring may make contributions to Grace Lutheran Church. Richard was born June 10, 1924 in Duluth, MN, the son of John and Agnes (Grenmark) Asp. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He married Mildred Morgan December 11, 1943 in New Orleans, LA. Richard retired from Buick after 40 years of service. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church were he was baptized July 9, 1926. Surviving are: wife, Mildred; daughter, Jerry Lynn Grimes and husband Richard Wells of Flint; son, Michael Asp of Flint; 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; brother, Robert Asp of Flint; sister, Carol Habeck of Osh Kosh, WI; several nieces and nephews.
