R.G. 'Red' WRIGHT

WRIGHT, R.G., "Red" age 68, of Grand Blanc, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2010 at home. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. Chaplain Dwight Murphy officiating. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 p.m. Sunday until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice. Red was born October 23, 1941 in Johnson County, Tennessee the son of the late James and Virgie Ruth (Harper) Wright. He married Delores Hurlburt in Grand Blanc in 1977. Red was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1964 to 1966. He was employed by General Motors in production until his retirement. Red enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards, fishing and camping. He was a Master Gardener and loved to listen to the Boston Red Sox baseball games on the radio. Surviving are his wife, Delores of Grand Blanc; 4 children, Jeffery Wright (Kathleen) of Aurora, OH, Stephen Wright (Geralyn) of Flint, Catherine Warren (Matthew) of Midland, Gina Lane (Lonnie) of Grand Blanc; 8 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; brother, Paul Wright (Lois); 6 sisters, Priscilla Wilcox (James), Phyllis Steagall (Durward), June Woodward, Reba Perdue (John), Lois Blevins (Roger), Sue Gentry (Conley); and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Loyd, Boyd and James David Wright. The family extends many thanks to Heartland Hospice and to Dr. Reddy and his entire staff for their care and concern.
