Rex Corrigan

CORRIGAN REX, -- Age 60, of Swartz Creek, passed away March 7, 2023, surrounded by family and friends after an aggressive battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6PM Saturday, March 18 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road Swartz Creek. Visitation will be 11AM until time of service on Saturday March 18 at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the family.

Rex was born July 6, 1962 in Kenora, Ontario, Canada the son of Paul Edward Corrigan and the late Helen Murlene Boger. He was a graduate of Bentley High School in 1980, then attended Mott Community College and received his certification as a Health Unit Coordinator in December 2007. Rex then was employed at Ascension Genesys Hospital in 2009 as an Administrative Associate. Rex loved his job and coworkers and was always known to be very professional and take great pride in his work.

Rex’s children and family were always his number one priority, and he was a grand pawpaw to Roubaix, Copper, Dolph, and Mera.  He loved sports, especially the Detroit Red Wings, and coaching his son’s baseball team. He enjoyed all genres of music, attending concerts, watching movies and history documentaries. He also enjoyed going on vacation, traveling up north, gardening, video games, watching Jeopardy & Wheel of Fortune. And anyone that knew Rex also knew that he took immense pride in keeping his belongings neatly organized and tidy

He is survived by his daughters Ashley (Jon) McKay, Christie Bollaert, and son Brendan Corrigan. father Paul (Sharon) Corrigan. stepfather Dave Boger. sisters Lori (Walt) Birchmeier and Kerry (Craig) Smith. nephews Justin, Jordan, Jesse, Wally, and Josh. niece Katie (Garrett) along with many other extended family and friends
