Rev. Alvin Domerese

DOMERESE, Rev. Alvin V. - Age 87, of Fenton, passed away, February 24, 2023. Memorial Service 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at The Rock Church (New Building) 11499 Linden Rd., Fenton. Pastor Wes Morris officiating. Visitation 11AM until the time of service Wednesday at church. Memorial contributions in Rev. Alvin's memory would be appreciated to The Rock Church.
Alvin was born May 19, 1935 in Clarksville, AR, the son of Louie Edward and Earla Loy (Peters) Domerese. He married Bettie C. Cantrell in Flint on February 26, 1955. After retiring from General Motors in 1983 he entered the ministry full time and over the next 40 years pastored several churches in Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas, and Arizona. His passion was preaching the gospel and telling people about Jesus. You didn't have to talk to him very long before the conversation would turn to him sharing something about the Lord and if you didn't have a church home, you'd get an invitation. His two favorite hobbies were shooting sports and flying. He was a private pilot and owned and flew several different airplanes over the years. They returned to Michigan in February 2022 to be close to family and attended The Rock Church of Fenton. Alvin's wife of nearly 68 years, Bettie preceded him in death just 3 months ago in November 2022.

Alvin is survived by, his son, Bob (Kathy) Domerese; and daughter, Sandy (Vernon) Yoder; 4 grandchildren, Brock Domerese, Krysten (David) Drummond, Lauren (Isaac) Kurtz, and Caitlin (Dustin) Brenner; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Thelbert Domerese; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Nancy VanSteenburg.
