Truran, Dr. David W., age 62, of Fenton, died Friday, December 1, 2006 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Services will be held 1PM Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at Fenton United Methodist Church, 119 S. Leroy, Fenton. Pastor David Mulder officiating. Visitation will be held 2-5 and 7-9PM Monday and Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd. Fenton. David was born May 7, 1944 in Detroit the son of Charles and Laura (Young) Truran. He graduated from North Central College in Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts; Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary with a Master's Degree in Divinity, and later graduated from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN with a Doctorate in Ministry. He was Pastor at Royal Oak United Methodist Church; Freeland United Methodist Church; St Paul United Methodist Church of Bloomfield Hills; Chelsea United Methodist Church and for the last 20 years at Fenton United Methodist Church. David was completely devoted to the Lord. He gave his whole self to God and Christ. David was an adoring father and loving husband, and very committed to his community. Â He loved his grandchildren; just playing tag with them was special. David enjoyed the outdoors, camping, canoeing, kayaking and wearing a comfortable flannel shirt. Surviving are his loving wife of 39 years, Donna; 3 devoted children, Kristen and husband John Wade of Shelby, Jeremy and wife Jaime Truran of Rochester, MN, Tiffany Truran and fiance Dustin Rice of Fenton; 3 grandchildren, Alexis, John David, and Madison; brother Rev. Paul and wife Bev Truran of Woodbury, MN; sister, Barbara Moran of Lapeer; and many other loving family members, church family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
