THOMPSON, Rev. William Edward, age 47, of Fenton, died Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Lapeer Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held 10AM Thursday, August 16, 2007 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 13667 Highland Rd., Hartland., Rev. Frank J. Pies and Vicar Christopher Thoma officiating. The family will receive friends 9AM Thursday until time of service at the church.  Interment in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy. Visitation will be 5-9PM Tuesday and 1-9PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Memorial Contributions may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church Building Fund. Rev. Thompson was born October 28, 1959 in Detroit the son of Robert C. and Elisabeth (Holder) Thompson. He graduated from Troy High School in 1977 and from Michigan State University in 1981. Rev. Thompson married Judy Hilken on June 30, 1985 in Utica. He graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and was ordained into the Holy Ministry in 1988 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Utica. Rev. Thompson served as Pastor at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Liberty Center, Ohio from 1988 to 1998 and then to Our Savior Lutheran Church, Hartland where he was currently serving as Pastor. Physical fitness was an important part of Rev. Thompson's life, he was a runner and exercised daily. He was a loving husband and a wonderful father. Surviving are his wife Judy, of Fenton; son, Robert of Fenton; brother, Robert Thompson (Kathryn) of Shelby Township; mother-in-law, Betty Brobst (Robert) of Brooklyn, IA; 2 brother-in-laws, John Hilken (Levonne) of Monroe, Mark Hilken (Kathy) of Ft. Dodge, IA and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Kristina I. Haskin in 2000 and father-in-law, Russell Hilken.
