SCHICK, Rev. Dr. Steven Brian - Age 53, died Sunday, October 8, 2006 at his home in Howell. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday, October 14, 2006 at All Saints Lutheran Church, 12701 W. Highland Rd., Hartland. Pastor Elaine Gomulka, Pastor David Jahn and Bishop John Schreiber officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-5 & 7-9 PM Friday at Transfiguration Lutheran Church, 14176 Fenton Rd., Fenton.  At 8PM Friday an evening prayer service will be held. Those desiring may make contributions to Transfiguration Lutheran Church Building Fund or Bishop's Discretionary Fund. Steven was born November 11, 1952 in Bluffton, OH, the son of Howard Ray and Colleen(Connor)Schick. He was married to Linda Nath on September 5, 1981 in Everly, IA. He graduated from Cory-Rawson High School in 1971, Miami University, Oxford, OH in 1975 with a degree in Political Science and Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, OH in 1979 with a Masters of Divinity. In 1980, he was ordained into the Word and Sacrament ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Pastor Schick served six congregations during his 26 years of active ministry: St. John Lutheran Church, Albert City, IA, St. John Lutheran Church, Bellevue, OH, Nazareth Lutheran Church, Chatfield, OH, St. Martin's Lutheran Church, Archbold, OH, Grace Lutheran Church, Howell and Transfiguration Lutheran Church, Fenton. In 2002, he earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Winebrenner Theological Seminary, Findlay, OH. Pastor Schick was also the author of 'The Cancer Chronicles', which was published in 2005. Surviving are: wife, Linda; sons, Nathan and wife Brie Schick of Howell, Nicholas Schick of Howell; parents, Howard and Colleen Schick of Ada, OH; brother, Wendell and wife Diane (Eley) Schick of Westminister, OH; sisters, Cindy and husband Tim Hanover, Linell and husband Jeff Hertenstein all of St. Mary's, OH; brothers-in-law, Larry and Gloria Nath of Estherville, IA, Roger and Renee Nath of Everly, IA, Keith and Mardee Nath of Mesa, AZ; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
