Rev. Vincent C. MYERS

The Reverend Vincent C. Myers, age 91, went to be with Jesus Saturday, January 7, 2012, in Harrison Township, MI, formerly of Spring Arbor, MI. He is survived by his children, Gary (Shirley) Myers, Annette (Rick) Evans, and David Myers; his Step-Children, Pat (Dick) Patton, Gail (Mike) McClaughlan, and Wayne (Debbie) McDonald; eleven grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and his brother John (Colleen) Myers. Vincent was preceded in death by his first wife, Laura Elizabeth (Carter) Myers; his second wife, Virginia (McDonald) Myers; his parents Raymond and Besy Myers; brothers, Lawrence and Raymond; sisters, Ruby, Thelma and Dorothy; daughter-In-Law, Judy (Wessels) Myers; grandson Nathan Evans, and great-grandson Ryan Moles. Vincent was a Minister with the Southern Michigan Conference of the Free Methodist Church serving with his wife, Laura Elizabeth, in South Haven, Jackson, Charlotte, Redford, Lincoln Park and Hazel Park, Michigan. He also served as a full time Chaplain at Beaumont Hospital. He was an active church builder having overseen the building of several churches. His "Project Missions" provided funds for several mission projects in Haiti. He especially enjoyed being part of the Jackson Emmaus Walks where he was affectionately called "Moses". We will miss you, Dad, your wisdom, humor, and love for your family. We know you are now rejoicing at the throne of God, and we praise God for you. A viewing will be held at the Swartz Creek Church of the Nazarene in Swartz Creek, Michigan, on Wednesday, January 11th, at 3:00 PM followed by a service at 4:00 and dinner. A memorial and interment service for Reverend Myers will be held at the Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church on April 21, 2012.
