COLLINS, Rev. William H. Â - age 91 of Burton, died suddenly at home, Wednesday August 25, 2004. Â Rev. Collins was born in Tennessee November 24, 1912 the son of Dave and Leona (Goodman) Collins. Â He has lived in Burton since 1975. Â He and Edna N. Cunningham were married on August 2, 1941 in Mississippi and she survives. Â He retired in 1975 from Buick Motor Division as a machine set-up person. Â Rev. Collins was a devoted family man, a good friend to all that knew him. Â He enjoyed working on and repairing small engines. Â He had been a member and assistant minister at the former Good Shepherd Church. Â Surviving are his loving wife Edna; his devoted children: John M. Smith of Burton, Jane Anderson and husband Marvin of Swartz Creek, Jean Schopierary and husband Dave of Grand Blanc, William H. Collins, Jr. and wife Evelyn of Otter Lake, Patsy L. LaPorte and husband Jack of Glendale, Arizona, Linda F. Payer and husband Steve of Otisville, and Frank Collins and wife Janie of Jacksonville, Florida. Â There are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Â Also surviving are sisters, Nell Henry of Virginia, Daisy Jakagen in Mississippi and a sister Jane in Wyoming. Â Many nieces and nephews. Â He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ernest and George and a sister Della Newman. Â Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, August 28, 2004 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Â Rev. Drew Williams will officiate and burial will follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Â The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 PM tonight and Noon to 2 PM and 6 to 8 PM Friday.
