Renate Lancaster Standridge

d. August 29, 2021

Renate Lancaster passed away peacefully on August 29th, 2021 after a brief illness. Renate is preceded in death by her father, Dr. Carl Bockamp, her mother, Louise Schmidt, and her brother, Dr. Verner Bockamp.  She is survived by her long time love and partner, James Standridge of Alpharetta, GA and daughter Kimber Beatty of Sandy Springs, GA

Renate was born in Cologne, Germany.  She studied in England at the London Metropolitan University to be a translator.  Renate spoke fluent English, German, and French languages. When she moved to Florida as a young adult, she resumed her education and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida.  Renate was quite the business entrepreneur. She and her partner, James Standridge, had many business ventures together, including owning one of the first McDonald’s franchises in Germany. Together they had homes in Cologne, Munich, San Diego, Colorado Springs, Denver, and Florida. Renate was active in many clubs, including the St. Petersburg Yacht and Country Club.  Renate’s interests were wide and varied, from a love of classical music, collecting art, playing golf, tennis, spending time at the beach and fishing, to her love of dogs (she supported dog rescue groups in Germany).  She owned many dogs over the years, but had a special fondness for Dobermans and Dachshunds.
