Recil Clemons

Clemons, Recil Lynn -- Age 79, of Flint, died May 12, 2015. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Friday May 15, 2015 at Swartz Creek United Methodist Church, 7400 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Pastor Kevin Harbin officiating. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with a 7 PM Masonic Memorial service; and again from 1 PM until time of service at the church on Friday. Those desiring may make contributions to Swartz Creek United Methodist Church or Alzheimer's Association or Parkinson's Disease Foundation. Recil was born June 15, 1935 in Danville, AK the son of William Douglas and Lottie Mae (Freeman) Clemons. He worked at Chevrolet Metal Fab for 43 years retiring in 1997. He was a member of Swartz Creek United Methodist Church. He was a Mason - Blue Lodge Life Member. He was a member of the Bay City Consistory 32nd Degree, Shriner - Elf Khurfeh Temple. He ran a marathon for the Detroit Free Press from Canada to Belle Isle, and participated in the Delmac Race by riding a bicycle from Lansing to The Mackinac Bridge which was 100 miles a day for 4 days. He enjoyed golfing and had many golfing buddies. Surviving are wife, Sylvia of Flint; son, Michael Clemons and wife Blenda of Madison, Mississippi; daughter, Lesa McKeon and husband John of Swartz Creek; brother, Gerald Clemons; sisters, Shelba Carroll, JoAnn Heal and husband Chris, Kathy Hinkle and husband Dan; grand children, Brandon Clemons, Jamie White and husband Nick, Joshua McKeon and wife Brittani, Emily McKeon, Heather Todd; great grandchildren, Logan, Maddox, Grayson, Coraline, Aiden, Thomas, Tinsley; and a host of nieces and nephews He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Doug Wayne, brother -in-law Don Carroll and sister- in-law Nancy Clemons.
