Lloyd and Louise relocated to Michigan at the height of the General Motors Era. Lloyd briefly worked for General Motors for a short while before he found work with the Flint board of education as repairman. He retired in 1986 after 34 years of employment. Lloyd was a Nature Savant; he found joy in all things outdoors. Throughout his many years of retirement he tended to his many beautiful flower beds and vegetable gardens. He even earned himself the title of "pumpkin man". He had a true passion for hunting and fishing, he was able to do this well into his late 80's. Lloyd was a founding member to the Big Prairie Buck Club. He loved watching wildlife along with feeding all the critters he could attract to his yard. Lloyd had befriended a chipmunk while cutting timber out of state and called him Chip and kept him in his pocket. He and Louise made yearly summer trips to Arkansas to visit family. Lloyd was a man of Christian Faith and attended several local churches, he frequently read scripture and enjoyed God's wonderful creations.
He is survived by his three daughters, Debra Dusenbury, Judy (Donald) Arrand and Corrie (Edward) Wendt; eight grandchildren, Brian (Tasha), Rebecca, Joshua, Faith, Zachery, Mareshah, Bradley and Sarah (Drew); eleven great grandchildren, Benjamin, Addyson, Kallah, Maya, Emily Brielle, Braelyn, Boston, Brook, Devon and Elisha. Lloyd is further survived by several more great and great great-grandchildren; his brother, Bill and many other family members and friends too numerous to list but never forgotten.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise in 2021; his siblings, Lonnie, Sam, Bonnie and Peggy. and his son-in-law, Chuck Dusenbury.
