Raymond Scott Smith- Age 62, youngest child of Benjamin and Bernice Smith was born August 31, 1961, in Flint, Michigan and passed away August 5, 2024, at his home in Essexville.
Ray lived at home until the age of 16 while attending McAvinchey Day School, then St. Louis School for Exceptional Boys in Chelsea. After 30 years he moved to Bay City and lived with Kathy, Jack, and his mother, Bernice until 2007 when he moved to the Windmere Group Home owned by Michigan Community Services, where he received wonderful care. He worked for Do-All in Bay City during this time.
Ray loved the rock group Kiss, who he got to see several times. Also, he loved WWF and enjoyed spending his annual birthday bash at brother Dave's house. Ray was a devoted fan of the Detroit Red Wings, Lions and Tigers.
Ray is survived by; sister Kathy Adam and her husband, special brother in law Jack Adam, sister-in-law Kathy Smith, brothers George (Sandra) and David, several special nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and one great- great niece. He also leaves many special friends.
Ray was preceded in death by; his parents, brothers Mike, Chuck and Greg, special aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was loved by his family and friends. To know him was to love him! Special thanks to MCSI and his Nebobish family and his wonderful care givers.
A Celebration of Ray's Life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, you may view the livestream of the service below his obituary on Sharp Funeral Homes website. Visitation will be held 12:00 PM -2:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to M.C.S.I. (Nebobish Road Group Home).
