Raymond Julius Medonis

July 1, 1925 — September 16, 2006

MEDONIS, Raymond Julius- Age 81, of Fenton, died Saturday, September 16, 2006 at his residence.  Surviving are: Loving wife of 56 years, Theresa; 4 children, Kenneth Peter of Fenton, Kathleen and husband Timothy Szczepanski of Fenton, Michael and wife Susan of New York, Robert and wife Sandie of Tennessee; 16 grandchildren; brother, Edward of Farmington Hills; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Raymond John; 2 brothers, Peter and William.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton.  Rev. Fr. David Harvey celebrant.  Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton from 1-9 PM Tuesday, and at the church from 10 AM until time of service Wednesday.  A vigil service will be held 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions the St. John G.I.F.T. Campaign or Avalon Hospice.  Mr. Medonis was born July 1, 1925 in Homestead, PA, the son of Peter Paul and Petronella (Visockis)Medonis.  He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Air Force. He married Theresa Zaliagiris October 21, 1950 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Detroit.  He co-owned Highland Lumber Company.  He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 60 year member of the Knight of Columbus, 4th Degree, former officer and very active with the Lithuanian Veterans.  He loved golf, carpentry work and music.  Friends may share their online condolences or post a tribute at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
