VAN GOETHEM, Raymond Frank Sr. - Age 88, of West Branch, formerly of Linden/Fenton, died March 31, 2015. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, April 7 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Pastor Jack McMaster officiating. Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-9 PM Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to Wounded Warrior Project or Faith Baptist Church of Linden. Ray was born August 7, 1926 in Grosse Pointe, the son of Frank and Augusta (DeVos) Van Goethem. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy, serving in WWII on the USSLST 133. Ray worked many years in management and retail sales including Allied Foods, Robertson Pharmacy, Mr. Van's Taxidermy, Sport Shop of Linden and retired from Loftus Title in 1996. He was past President of Grand Blanc Chapter of Pheasants Forever and of Linden Kiwanis. Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, and games with the grand kids. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Glenda; children, Diane Patterson, Sheree (Mark) McDaniel, Ray II (Colleen); grandchildren, Kari, Joey, Kaitlynn, Jesse, Derek, Erika, Ryan, Cody, Amber; five great grandchildren; sisters, Judith Bloom, Adeline Miller;sister-in-law, Betty Van Goethem.
