Raymond Gavin

GAVIN, Raymond S. - Age 80, of Gaines, passed away peacefully January 6, 2022. Ray was born July 14, 1941 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Raymond and Margaret (Hudak) Gavin. A genuine gentleman that enjoyed a cup of coffee, a cinnamon roll and good conversation. He lent a hand to all, had a heart of gold and was true to himself. Married to the love of his life Marlene Kish, they enjoyed 61 years together making memories with their children Dennis Gavin (deceased), Thomas Gavin and Susan (Jeff) Suddeth; and the utmost love for his grandchildren, Gavin, Brooklyn, Amanda, and Aaron (deceased),  along with his sister Marlene (Frank) Blaurok and many nieces and nephews.   Ray retired from Ameritech after many years, motivated by his passion for farming, he supported Michigan 4-H, MSU agriculture, was a leader in the sheep industry and president of the American Romney Association. Ray lived his dream farming with his family and friends by his side, he also shared his love for hunting and fishing. He will be deeply missed.
