Raymond O. ELLIS

ELLIS, Raymond O. - age 92, of Swartz Creek, went to the arms of his Heavenly Father on March, 24, 2010 at Caretel Inns of Linden. Visitation will be at Sharp Funeral Hones, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek on Friday, March 26, 2010 from 12:00 until 4:00, and from 6:00 until 9:00. Memorial service will be held March 27th, 2010 11:00 AM at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 6273 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI. Pastor Aaron Whitman will officiate. Burial will follow at Flint Memorial Park. Raymond was born March 28, 1917 in Portageville, MO. He married Olive Gillis on May 5, 1951. They enjoyed 46 years together until her passing on September 26, 1997. Raymond lived most of his life in Flint, served in the Army during World War II, and retired from General Motors Buick Division after 26 years. Surviving are: daughter and son-in-law, Sonya and Dave Bradley; daughters, Carolyn Garrison, Beverly McConnell, and Shirley Welsh; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Dorothy Ellis; sisters, Corrine Johnson and Ruby Chism; grandchildren, Tim Garrison, Darren and Laura Garrison, Teri Peterson, Chad Bradley, Lindsay and Josh Davis of Austell, GA, Tracy Munson of Cedaredge, MO, Matt and Kristy Welsh, Paul Ellis; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by his son, Mervin R. Ellis; sisters, Lucille Glass and Arlee Hankins; sons-in-law, Robert Garrison and Gerald McConnell.
