Ray was our protector, jokester, life of the party, brother, silly grandfather, dedicated dad and devoted husband. He loved his family, buddy Frank, handlebar mustache, old cars, his Thursday afternoons with friends, Wednesday coffee with his best friend/son Raymond and being dragged shopping/ thrifting with his wife which he loved.
Ray was born in Pennsylvania and grew up in Flint, MI. He graduated from Northwestern in 1967. After high school he worked at General Motors Chevy in the hole in Skilled trades as a tin smith for 30 years while earning degrees in mechanical engineering, industrial technology, and drafting. Upon his retirement he started a second career as a boiler operator for the city of Flint.
Ray met his wife, Suzy by asking her out on a date and if she liked duck . Then he surprised her with a beautiful wooden duck. That is the thoughtful and silly guy he was. They shared a beautiful marriage for the past 36 years raising 2 children and enjoying their 5 grandchildren and many beloved dogs.
He leaves behind his wife, Suzanne; daughter, Robin (Joe) Powell; son, Raymond (June) DeSisto; 5 grandchildren; Colton, Charlie, Houston, Madilyn and Vincent; sister, Gail (Lee) McEmber; brother, Roland DeSisto and little buddy, Frank. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Roland (Anne) DeSisto; his in-laws, Charlie (Eva) Butcher, his 3 brothers-in-law, Jim "Ace" Lord, Dave Hewitt and Rodney McCormick.
