DAGENAIS, Raymond Mathew "Ray" - Age 82, of Fenton, passed away, Sunday, November 24, 2024. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, November 30, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Fenton (The Mass will be live streamed and can be viewed via Ray's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant. Burial in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Friday from 4-8 PM; and at church Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass. A Rosary will be prayed 7:00 PM Friday followed by a Knight of Columbus Chalice Service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Fenton Knights of Columbus.
Ray was born January 1, 1942 in Flint, the son of Ray C. and Molly (McLone) Dagenais. He was a 1960 graduate of St. Michael Catholic High School, Flint; and he attended Flint Junior College (Mott Community College). He married M. Diane Curry June 15, 1963 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Flint. He had lived in the Fenton area his entire life. Ray retired in 1993 from GM Chevrolet V-8 Engine Plant as a pipe fitter. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Fenton. He also was a member of the Fenton Knight of Columbus Council #7418 and the 4th Degree Assembly #2031. He enjoyed volunteering, helping others, traveling the United States with his wife in their RV, and racing remote control sail boats.
Surviving are: his wife of 61 years, Diane; sons, Steven (Patricia Lee) Dagenais of Holly and Paul (Susan) Dagenais of Fenton; grandchildren, Hope, Lilah, Jordan, Madison, Britny, Spencer and Taylor; brother-in-law, Joseph (Kathleen) Curry of Fenton; sisters-in-law, Gail (Steve Izzo) Curry of Davison and Marcia (Joe) Turcsak of Flint; several nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, Dennis Staley of Grand Blanc.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Neil Dagenais; grandchildren, Parker and Erin Dagenais; sister, Mary Ann Staley; sister-in-law, Carolyn Dunlop; and brother-in-law, Donald Curry. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
