BARBER, Raymond W.  Age 80, of Mt. Morris, died Sunday, March 28, 2004 at Genesys Hospice Care Center, Goodrich, MI after a lengthy illness. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 11110 Saginaw St., Mt. Morris with Fr. Ray Urbanek celebrant. Interment will be held in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-9 PM Monday and 1-5 and 7-9 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd. (just south of Hill Rd.), Flint. A scripture service will be held 7 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Barber was born on September 8, 1923 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Paul and Julia Barber and had resided in the Flint area all of his life. He was a 1941 graduate of Flint Northern High School. He married Catherine Katie Pavelich June 21, 1947 and remained married until her death in 1989. Ray worked for many years as a route salesman for both New Era Potato Chips and Shaffer Bread Companies. He later worked for General Motors Parts Division retiring in 1984. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and AARP. He is survived by: sons, Larry and wife, Linda Barber of Spring Lake, MI, Dave and wife, Ann Barber of Grand Blanc; sister, Katherine and husband, Ray McBride of Drayton Plains; grandchildren, Chad and Gina Barber of Muskegon, Julie Barber and fiancâ?s, Josh Fischer of Grand Haven; great-grandson, Logan Barber of Muskegon; special friends, John and Mary Jane Hadden of Mt. Morris. The family also wishes to extend its sincere thanks to Dr. Larry Braver and the entire Genesys Hospice staff.
