Ramona Green

GREEN, Ramona Charlotte - Age 87, of Fenton, died Sunday, May 2, 2021. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Fenton United Methodist Church, 119 S. Leroy St, Fenton. Ramona's service will be live streamed and may be viewed on her obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. Pastor Jeff Jaggers officiating. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Wednesday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM where a Eastern Star Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held at the church Thursday from 10-11 AM. Those desiring may make contributions to Fenton United Methodist Church.

Ramona was born September 24, 1933 in LaPlata, MO, the daughter of Robert Henry and Gleneva (Easley) Trowbridge. She was a 1951 graduate of LaPlata High School. She married J.C. Hugh Green January 12, 1952 in Marceline, MO and he preceded her in death July 15, 2000. She had resided in Fenton, MI since 1952 coming from LaPlata, MO. She enjoyed sewing, baking, cooking, gardening, genealogy, and embroidery. Her kitchen was always warm and open. Many knew her as "the cookie lady" or the "apple dumpling lady". Others knew her for helping them vote or seeing her research family trees. She often would research her heritage in America, England, and Scotland. Ramona was a member of the Fenton United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Flint Genealogy Society, and Pioneer Memorial Society. She worked for decades as an election inspector and chairperson in Fenton Township.

Surviving are: daughter, Wanda Gail (Danny) Brinker of Linden; son, Wayne Hugh (Pamela) Green of Gaines; grandchildren, Kristy (Chris) Brouwer of Lake Orion, Kendall Brinker of Fenton, Anthony (Katie) Green of Georgia, Tiffany (Jason) Wasylyshyn of Fenton, Scott Rumschlag of Fenton, and Eric Rumschlag of Fenton; great grandson, Drew Brouwer; brother, Delbert "D.C." Trowbridge of Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 52 years, J.C. Hugh Green; her beautiful daughter, Brenda Kay Rumschlag; eight of her siblings, Wilbur, Dorthy (Ecker), Reba (Wood), Freda, Hurshel (and his twin brother), Madison "Mac", and Lois Trowbridge; and her close special companion David Forbush.
