Ramon Winford Tyler

TYLER, Ramon Winford - Age 74, of Gaines, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, June 24, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Pastor Mark Lasley officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Vernon. Visitation will be from 11-2 and 3-9 PM Thursday and 9 AM - 9 PM Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Tyler was born May 29, 1932 in Quitman, AR, the son of Oliver and Ada Tyler. He married Ellie Byrd on October 21, 2000. They were teenage sweethearts separated for 49 years before their marriage. Mr. Tyler worked at Consumer Power for several years and retired from Complete Auto where he hauled new cars for 34 1/2 years. He was a member of the Teamsters and Fenton Lodge # 109 F & AM. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Tyler never met a stranger and loved people and his dog, Buffie. Surviving are: wife, Ellie of Gaines; step-daughter, Linda Scrivener; six children, Kenneth (Jackie) Tyler, Beth (Dale) Taylor, Roger Tyler, Keith (Cindy) Tyler, Gary Tyler, Carl Tyler; three grandchildren, Angie, Jennifer, and Tiffany; two great-grandchildren; brother, Fred Tyler; four sisters, Ilene Sneed, Doreen Propance, Fern (Peck) Corbitt, Merle (Thomas) Ogden; special cousin, John (Freda) Rice; several nieces and nephews.
