EDGAR, Ralph H. -- Age 87, of Flint, died May 14, 2014. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Monday May 19, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Pastor Jim Nelson officiating. Entombment at Crestwood Mausoleum, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 11 AM until time of service on Monday. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society, or East Michigan Food Bank. Ralph was born on April 29, 1927 in Gideon, MO., the son of the late, Henry and Pearl (Jackson) Edgar. He and his family moved to Flint, MI., when he was 7 Years old. Ralph attended Flint Central High School and he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy 1944-1946 during WWII. Ralph was united in marriage to Fleta Bloss on October 9, 1982 in Flint, MI., and she preceded him in death on March 6, 2014. Ralph retired from GM V-8 Engine in 1992 with 30 years of service. He was an active member and Benefits, Rep. of the UAW Local 659. Raised by deaf parents, Ralph became very fluent in sign language at a young age and continued throughout his lifetime to help interpret for others when needed. He was an avid bowler and had a true passion for baseball and participated in many area leagues. He enjoyed country music, playing bingo and loved spending time with family and friends. He is survived by daughter, Vicki Edwin; sons, Chuck (Megan) Edgar, Jon Edgar; stepdaughters, Arlene (John) Beaird, Peggy ( Robert) Moody; stepson, Michael Bloss; brother-in-law, Gerald (Betty) Williams; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; son, David Edgar and brother, Paul Edgar. Special thanks to Evelyn Skank for the compassionate care that she provided him.
