DICKENSON, Ralph M. -- Age 103, of Swartz Creek, died March 22, 2010 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Friday, March 26 at the Flushing Presbyterian Church, 5010 N. McKinley Rd., Flushing, Rev. Teresa Peterson officiating. Interment in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, and 10 AM until the funeral at church on Friday. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to Avalon Hospice. Mr. Dickenson was born April 5, 1906 the son of Clarence and Ruth (Gensel) Dickenson. He was a lifetime resident of Flint and Swartz Creek. He married Violet A. Ridley on September 3, 1927 in Toledo, OH; and she preceded him in death December 24, 1997. Mr. Dickenson retired from Buick with 31 years of service. He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church and the Masonic Lodge # 490 F. & A.M. Mr. Dickenson was an avid bowler and fisherman. He was loved by all. Surviving are: five children, Norman and wife Helen of Flushing, Delores and husband John Davis of Wilmington, DE, Donald and wife Barbara of Flushing, Gerald of Flint, Alan and wife Linda of Linden; 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Todd Dickenson; wife Violet; and eleven siblings. The family extends special thanks to Avalon Hospice and Hyde Park.
