Ralph Franklin Compton Sr. was born March 14, 1932. He died at home surrounded by his loving family on December 31, 2020. He was the 5th of 8 children to Edna and Perry Compton in Freeland, Michigan. He served in the Army, rising to Master Sergeant, Korean Conflict. He worked 37 years for General Motors retiring in 1989. Shocking red hair, peppered with freckles drew a stunner, Phrona Cottrell . This union brought five children, Ralph Jr /Jenny Compton, Denise Daniel/David Smith, Roberta Compton, Malinda/Duane Burnash, Perry Compton/Michael Freeman. Grandchildren, Brett/Jessica, Jennifer/Carrie, Amy, Dustin/Samatha, Curtis/Alesha, Morgan, Alexandra . Great grandchildren, Carson, Alyssa, McKenzie, Elliot, Christian, Bryce, Elec. Surviving siblings, Wayne/Carol Compton, Donna Hause, Dorothy/Larry Root. Deceased family members, Bob/Eileen Compton, Nellie/Vic Rohn Loretta/Ed LaDrig, Isabelle Groening, Bumps Hause. Special thanks to niece Cindy Rine, many dear nieces, nephews and friends. We cry. The Heavens rejoice. Private funeral services will take place. Live streaming of the service will be available 1 PM, Thursday, January 21, 2021 at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. Public visitation will take place from 12 PM to 7 PM, Wednesday January 20 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Private interment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Donations may be made to Old Newsboys or Humane Society of Genesee County.
