Ralph Burgess Jr.

BURGESS, Ralph Wellington Jr. - Age 86, of Flint, born January 30, 1930, died May 7, 2016. Loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Surviving are: wife, Helen (Faris) Burgess; sons, Ralph Burgess, D.D.S. (Theresa), George Burgess (Jackie), Patrick Burgess (Jamie); daughter, Lori Burgess-Stevens (William); grandchildren, Stacy, Rocky, Jessica, Patrick, Jr., Sarah, and Nicholas; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, William Burgess; many other relatives and friends. Ralph attended Swartz Creek High School and was in the Army during the late '40's. He was a member of the Flint Falcons Football Team, the Swartz Creek American Legion Post 294, and Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church. He worked as a Yardmaster and retired from Grand Trunk Railroad. Ralph enjoyed 61 years of marriage with wife, Helen and family and friends were his life. He loved hunting, fishing, watching sports and playing cards. Ralph was funny, a great story teller, and considered to be the "life of the party". He has gone to be in Heaven with his parents, siblings and all loved ones that have preceded him in death. You are loved and you will be missed. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, 4133 Calkins Rd., Flint with Fr. Pierre T. Bassil celebrant. Interment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where an incense service will be held at 7 PM followed by an American Legion service. Visitation will also be held from 10 AM- 11 AM Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church.
