Rafael Elizondo

ELIZONDO, Rafael Morales - age 93, of Swartz Creek, formerly of Flint, died Friday, February 3, 2017 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 8 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2316 W. Coldwater Road, Flint. Interment will follow in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held 3-8 PM Tuesday with a 7 PM Rosary at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, from 10 AM until the time of Mass at the church on Wednesday. Those desiring may make contributions to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Rafael was born February 18, 1923 in San Antonio, TX the son of Vincent and Estefana (Morales) Elizondo. He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during WWII and was present for D-Day. He married Mary Delgado in Flint in 1949. Rafael retired from General Motors Buick Motor division. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rafael was an avid Detroit Tiger's fan. Rafael is survived by his wife, Mary; six children, Ralph (Kelly) Elizondo, John Elizondo, Mike (Kathy) Elizondo, Lisa (Greg) Dalea, Fred (Erin) Elizondo, Tammie (Mike) Bully; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
