Pietro Montini

MONTINI, Pietro "Pete"- Age 69, of Swartz Creek, died May 31, 2016. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 AM Tuesday, June 7, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3139 Hogarth Ave., Flint. Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant. Committal service 3 PM Tuesday at Arborcrest Memorial Park, Ann Arbor. Visitation will be held Sunday 5-8 PM and 2-8 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where an Order of the Sons of Italy service will be held at 6:30 PM Monday under the auspices of Flint Lodge 861 followed by a Rosary being prayed 7 PM at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held 10:30 AM until the time of service at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Pietro was born September 17, 1946 in Patrica, Italy. He came to Flint in 1961. "Pete/Dave" loved cooking for others and owned Dave's Pizzeria of Flint and Swartz Creek for nearly 50 years. He attended many of his grandchildren's activities and sporting events. Pete enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards with friends, casino runs, trips to Florida, the Caribbean, and Italy. Pietro was preceded in death by his parents, Rocco and Maria Montini, sister, Liliana, and granddaughter, Abigail Briegel. Surviving are children, Michael Montini of Tarpon Springs, FL, Pietro (Lori) Montini Jr. of Canton, Lisa (Bryan) Briegel of Ypsilanti, and Brian (Amanda) Montini of Grand Blanc; former spouse Marlene Montini of Swartz Creek, Liliana (Edurado) Bufalini of Italy, Aurelia (Fulvio) Ragnone of Swartz Creek. 8 grandchildren; Aubri, Brianna, Courtney, Mara, Adam, Austin, Noah, Zoie and 1 great grandson, Daxton.
