HAYES, Phyllis Jean - age 90, of Flint, formerly of Swartz Creek, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020. Funeral Services will be held 1 PM Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Gary Cech officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Monday; and 12 PM until the time of service Tuesday. Phyllis was born August 12, 1930 in Mount Vernon, IN the daughter of Harry and Chloris (Layer) Dixon. She married Frank William Hayes Jr. on May 10, 1952 in Flint; and he preceded her in death on April 14, 2006. Phyllis worked as a Registered Nurse for Richard Lundeen M.D. for 18 years. She and her late husband volunteered at The Sloan Museum Archives for many years. She was also a Scout leader. Phyllis and Frank were founding members of The National Fostoria Glass Museum and Club. Phyllis was a member and secretary of the Great Lakes Depression Glass Society, and an active member in the National Cambridge Collectors club.
Surviving are: four children, Luanne and husband Gary Cech of Flint, Frank William Hayes III and wife Sue of Lansing, Jeanette and husband John Hyden of Bedford, TX, Greg Hayes and wife Theresa of Lexington (formerly of Fenton); grandchildren, Chris and Jeff Kuziemko, James and Josh Cech, Frank William Hayes IV, Sara Hayes, Katie Sawyer and Heather Hyden, Alyssa Rogers; great-grandchildren, Cael Cech, Anika Kuziemko-Wolters, Carter Hayes and Lillian Evans, William L. Hayes, Natalie and Elise Hayes, Lucy Rogers; sister, Delores "Dee" Dixon-Spohn; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by: her parents; sister, Donna McDaniel and granddaughter Amy Dee Hayes. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
