CROOKSHANKS, Phylis - Age 70, of Gaines, died Sunday, June 28, 2009 at her home. Funeral services will be held 11AM Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6-9PM at the funeral home. Phylis was born in West Virginia on February 24, 1939, the daughter of Henry and Beulah (Young) McCormick and lived in the Gaines area most of her life. She married Bobby Crookshanks Sr. on July 5, 1957 and he preceded her in death in 1985. Mrs. Crookshanks was a loving and caring person who enjoyed her family - especially her awesome grandchildren. Surviving are: children, Cindy (Phil) Barnett of Gaines, Bobby "Gene" Crookshanks Jr. of Gaines; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer, Phil Jr., Jessica and Brandon; great-grandchildren, Damian and Devlin; brothers, Henry McCormick Jr., Lacy (Lynda) McCormick; sisters, Joan (Ronald) McClung, Patsy (Robert) McClung, Linda (Bob) Birchtold; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her mother and father; brothers, Jack McCormick, Bernard McCormick; and sister, June Blose.
