Philip Anderson

ANDERSON, Philip James- Age 65, of Flint, died August 10, 2015. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday August 13, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3139 Hogarth Ave., Flint. Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant. Visitation will be held 10 AM until time of service at the church Thursday. Interment will be 1 PM Friday August 14, at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Lake Leelanau, MI. Those desiring may make contributions to the Philip James Anderson Memorial Fund c/o Sharp Funeral Homes. Philip was born November 13, 1949 in Traverse City the son of Charles Vernon and Mary Augusta (Zeits) Anderson. He resided in Flint since 1953 after moving from Traverse City. He worked at the Flint Journal with 22 years of service. Philip was involved in the Knights of Columbus and was a 3rd Degree Knight and member of council 8245. He was an avid wrestling and Detroit Tigers fan. He is survived by his brothers, Charles (Ruth Ann) Anderson, Elmer (Joyce) Anderson, and sister, Rose Ann Anderson, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Virginia Elliott and Charlotte Bearup, brothers in law, James Elliott and Richard Bearup, and life long friend, Louis Abernathey.
