Pheng Moua was born on December 22nd, 1964 in Kib Ba Quo, Laos. He is the oldest child of the late Yang Nao Pao Moua and late Der Lor and Mai Moua. Pheng has nine brothers, Yia Moua (Phoua Yang), Sia Moua (Yeng Lor), Sher Moua, ChuYee Moua, Kojpab Moua (Mai Her), Many Moua (Kathy Lo), Yee-Leng Moua & Toubee Moua, and three sisters, Nancy Moua (Bee Her), Brenda Moua (Nong Lee) & Micki Moua.
Pheng graduated from Frankfort High School in Frankfort, MI in 1986. His continued education led him to DeVry University in Addison, IL, where he graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. While trying to overcome illness that kept him out of the workforce since 2016, he was able to come back to Frankfort, MI to frequently enjoy his passions of art, photography and fishing. He was an avid fisherman. You could find him fishing at the end of the pier at most anytime of the day, teaching or making friendly conversations with the locals and tourists; giving his tips and fishing experiences, and sharing stories about the ones that got away.
In September 2020, Pheng had a heart valve replacement and was not able to fully recover. Unfortunately, Pheng passed away on January 25th, 2021 while in hospice care. He was blessed with a wonderful talent, the biggest heart and an outgoing personality. We love and will miss you forever. Fish on!
