Peter Vandriessche

VANDRIESSCHE, Peter - Age 72 of Durand, passed away on April 18, 2021. A private funeral service will be held (the service will be live-streamed at 11:00 AM Friday, April 23, 2021 on Pete's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com) Public visitation will be held 11-2 PM and 4-8 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel 209 East Broad Street, Linden.

Peter was born August 14, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan the son of William and Agnes VanDriessche.  He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War. Pete was the Chief of Police in Linden and served the Linden Community for 40 years.  He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, golfing and fishing. Pete was also an animal lover and was known to many as "Papa Pete".

Surviving are: wife, Becky; children, Molly (Joe McIntyre) VanDriessche , Kelly (Jeremy) Cradit, Courtney Evans, Nick (Kylie) McCullough; Papa to:  Nina (Nick), Jazmyne, Caleb, Camden, Ridley, Jamon, Abbey, Carson, Madison, Antoinette; great granddaughter, Nora; sisters, Dianne (Jim) Gilbert, Mickey Bobo; brother, Jan (Carolyn); brothers-in-law, Henry, Tony (Erica), Rick (Brandy), Brian; mother-in-law, Shirley Baldwin, many nephews and nieces, cousins and friends.
