Peter S. 'Gripper' MADDEN

MADDEN, Peter S. "Gripper" - Age 60, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, February 19, 2010, at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor. Funeral Services will be held 1:00PM Monday, February 22, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 12-4pm and 6-8PM and Monday 11:00AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family. Peter was born October 4, 1949 in Flint. Peter married Donetta "Kay" (Enyart) in Flint on December 30, 1993. Mr. Madden served his country in the Army as a Spec 4 warrant officer and a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War. He was an air traffic controller for O'Hare airport in the 1970's. He retired from G.M. Saginaw Steering Gear with 28 years of service. Peter was an avid golfer, and an all-around great handyman. Surviving are: wife Kay Madden of Swartz Creek; daughters, Heather Crim of Flushing, Corinne (Joe) Willhoite of Burton, Keili Madden (fiance Joey Genovese) of Flint; step-son Shawn Hamilton of Burton; grandchildren, Samantha, Alexis, Brooke, Blake, Brooklyn and Brice; mother, Elizabeth Madden of Burton; sisters, Barb Marzi of Birch Run, Maureen "Reene" (Ron) Gilbert of FL; brothers, Joseph Madden of Davison, Patrick (Kimberly) Madden of White Lake, Todd Madden of Burton and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
