Peggie Dye

DYE, Peggie Lou - age 81, passed away at home on February 28, 2016. She was born on a farm in Kennett, MO on October 20, 1934 to Henry and Hazel Green. She graduated from Central High School in 1951 and married James Dye on January 13, 1954. She was a graduate of Michigan State University, a retired teacher from the Flint Community School and she co-developed the Montessori program for the Flint Community Schools. She was a long time member of Lincoln Park Baptist Church and a current member of Ainsworth Baptist Church. She was very involved in church work at the state and local levels through her entire life and had a heart for missions. Peggie loved watching the birds and wildlife in her back yard and enjoyed working in her flowers. She is survived by two daughters, Deb (Rich) McKone and Sue (Brian) Storms of Flint; granddaughter, Kristin (John) Tiernan and great granddaughter Sharon Tiernan of Las Vegas, NM, granddaughter, Danielle Storms and great grandson, Draven Ramm of Burton, as well as many nieces and nephews. We would like to give a special thanks to Val, Makella and Sara from McLaren Hospice for their loving care and friendship to Peggie. Contributions may be directed in Peggie's memory to McLaren Hospice, American Heart Association or Genesee County Humane Society. A small, family service has already taken place.
